WPThumbify allows you to generate featured images in bulk and provides a convenient way to remove them.
The Bulk Image Removal feature allows you to remove featured images from posts and the WordPress media library, helping you free up storage space on your website.
Remove and Delete Featured Images Screen
To access this feature, navigate to the Bulk Removal option in the WPThumbify admin panel.

On the Remove and Delete Featured Images screen, you’ll find the following options:

- Filter By: Choose whether you want to remove featured images by category or by specific posts.
- Category: If you selected “Category” in the Filter By option, you can choose the specific category from the dropdown menu. Leaving the dropdown selection empty will apply the removal to all posts.
Warning: Removing featured images will permanently delete them from the WordPress media library. Please exercise caution when using this feature, as it cannot be undone, unless you have taken a backup of your website earlier.
Removing Featured Images
The process of removing featured images is straightforward and similar to bulk generation. You can remove images by category or by individual post selection.
To remove featured images from all posts, simply select Select All in the Category dropdown and click the Remove Featured Images button.
Once done, you’ll get a success message like below:

Activity Log

WPThumbify provides an Activity Log feature to help you keep track of your image generation and removal actions. To access the Activity Log, go to the Activity Log option in the WPThumbify admin panel.
The Activity Log screen displays a table with the following information:
- Template Name: The name of the template used for image generation.
- Created Date: The date and time when the action was performed.
- Status: The current status of the action (Incomplete, Undo Complete, or Completed).
- Action: Available actions for each log entry (Resume, Undo, or Delete).
Incomplete Generation
If an image generation process was interrupted or couldn’t be completed, you’ll see an Incomplete status in the Activity Log.
To resume the generation from where it left off, simply click the Resume button next to the log entry.

You will be redirected to the Bulk Thumbify screen, and the image generation process will continue from the point of interruption.
Undo Action
The Undo action allows you to revert the changes made by WPThumbify.
For example, if you had featured images on your posts before using WPThumbify and then generated new images, clicking the Undo button in the Activity Log will restore the original featured images on the affected posts.

Delete Action
The Delete button in the Activity Log removes the log entry from the table. It’s important to note that deleting a log entry does not remove the associated featured images from your posts.
To remove featured images, you need to use the Bulk Removal option.
By utilizing the Bulk Image Removal and Activity Log features of WPThumbify, you can easily manage and clean up your featured images, ensuring optimal storage usage and maintaining a tidy WordPress media library.
Remember to exercise caution when removing featured images, as the action is irreversible and permanently deletes the images from your media library.
